University of Belgrade Faculty of Law facilitated the public event where the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation from Moscow was presented, as part of the prospective cooperation between the Russian and Serbian academic community.
The project was supported by the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law, its dean, prof. Dr. Zoran Mirković, the embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Serbia, Russian Center for Science and Culture from Belgrade, as well as the Law Chamber of Belgrade.
The International Consulting Group from Belgrade, presented by its associate, Natalija Radivojević, student ambassador to the Financial University from Moscow, master student at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law, and Rossotrudnichestvo scholar, helped accommodate this event so as to familiarise Serbian youth and students with the possibilities of studying in the Russian Federation.
The event commenced with the words of the international cooperation vice dean, dr. Jelena Lepetić; Russian Center for Science and Culture deputy director, Mr. Vasiliy Galaktionov; and the secretary of the Management Board of the Law Chamber of Belgrade, Mr. Dragoslav Ljubičanović. Natalija Radivojević addressed the attendees afterward. The event was also attended by Mr. Aleksey Zhukov, first secretary of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Serbia, numerous professors and the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law associates, legal experts, and students.
This event marks a milestone in the initiative by Natalija Radivojević and the vice dean, dr. Jelena Lepetić, on behalf of the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law, together with the international cooperation pro-rector of the Financial University, dr. Alexander Linnikov. They put special emphasis on connecting Serbian and Russian academic communities, as one of the cornerstones for the prospective development of society in Serbia, having in mind the importance of the Russian Federation and, less fortunately, to Serbian youth less available resources for learning about the study opportunities in Russia.
Miss Radivojević spoke about the history and development of the Financial University, as well as about the study possibilities and the application process students undergo. This University is one of the oldest and most renowned educational institutions in the Russian Federation, which at the moments accommodates over 50,000 students, 3000 lecturers, 15 faculties, 10 Moscow campuses, 27 regional branches, and 19 specialist institutes. What speaks in favor of its significance and quality is the fact that this is where numerous state staff and businessmen obtained their education.
The University pays special attention to international cooperation, hence at the moment it accommodates academic exchange with 55 foreign partners and academic institutions from around the world, resulting in over 1300 foreign students from more than 60 countries.
The University operates a Preparatory faculty, where foreign students take 1-year intensive courses of the Russian language and professional terminology necessary for the continuation of their studies in other academic institutions in the Russian Federation.
After the presentation, Natalija Radivojević shared her experience of applying for a scholarship and studying in Russia. She also invited the attendees to use the excellent opportunities to study in Russia, and emphasized that it is her desire, as the student ambassador, a special acknowledgment by the Financial University for her commitment and conscientiousness, and with the International Consulting Group, to help all young students and graduates interested in professional improvement in the Russian Federation.
